Proper way of choosing and purchasing the most suitable paddleboard

Purchasing a suitable paddleboard can become a challenging task to inexperienced buyers (even though I have enough practice I may still fail…).

Tod from Aloha Surfboards outlet lays out his view on a proper way of purchasing a paddleboard – the good one – if you do it first time ever.

Tod from Aloha Surfboards outlet, set on the North Coastline of Sydney in Australia, trades numerous paddleboards. That’s why he and I have decided to meet and talk about the most important aspects to bear in mind when purchasing  a paddleboard.

Hopefully, this advice will come in handy to you during purchasing.

Stand Up Paddleboard Night Glow

Bill: Hi! Glad to have you here! Well, you are kind of an icon in the surfing field in our community.

You have a surfing outlet named ‘Aloha Surfboards’ and you merchandise with various paddleboards.

I assumed it would be helpful to get together and speak about some crucial aspects which surf-riders should remember when purchasing a suitable paddleboard.

The aim is to explain our followers the proper way of purchasing a good paddleboard, particularly if it is your first experience, and if possible, avoid those pitfalls in the future.

purchasing of Multi-Sport Paddleboard

Tod: Thank you! Glad to be here, Bill. Well, you are right, there are many of those who wish to become a part of this surf culture.

However, with multiple sorts of surf kitting available, it may become a challenge to a beginner, and as much as to an unpracticed rider if they haven’t actually decided what to look for.

I think our goal as the assistants is to instruct our clients what to pay attention to when choosing and purchasing a  paddleboard that’ll serve all your requirements; the location of your surfing practices, wave conditions of your surf sessions, your personal physical characteristics, and how much you are ready to spend.

Each of these aspects makes the difference when you’re purchasing a new one.

Bill: Yes, great.

Stand Up Paddling

Tod: That’s the essence of our job: pair a customer with a suitable paddleboard – preferably to the best advantage – in such a way they would have a fruitful bond and then when the time comes to break up, they may return and . . .

Bill: Turn the board in for the next one . . .

Tod: Right . . . turn it in to the other one.

Bill: Well, it seems much simpler than getting unhitched!

Tod: It is much simpler, and not so costly. We were not supposed to discuss divorces though, but it sure is much simpler and not so expensive.

Surf-boarding is comparatively a low-cost kind of activity. Paddleboards wear well, riding the waves is exciting, it’s a fitness exercise, that’s an all-inclusive sport.

Advantageously, it does not require large investments. It doesn’t cost anything to go to a lovely coast.

Bill: It really is a gorgeous coast!

Stand Up Paddleboard in Konstanz, Germany

Tod: Yes, the coastline is picturesque. But the waves there are not very high.

As a matter of fact, that’s the reason why you see many short-length, thick, and broad paddleboards there that are used for low gentler seas.

Bill: Then we should follow the rule, I suppose. And I assume, you more focus on trading those short-length, thick, and broad paddleboards and grovellers.

If for instance, I visit your shop and have no idea how to choose and rules of purchasing the right surfboard…

Tod: Frankly speaking, I would be more than fortunate if I had customers like you. But believe me, there are not as many as you think.

Bill: So, imagine the situation where I come to your shop and looking for the board to use on average smother waves. And, for example, I have a hectic business schedule so I can find not so much time for surfing.

What would be your recommendations for purchasing in my case?

Tod: To start with, I would try to get as much information as possible about your current surfing kit to give you advice about purchasing.

As I get the picture of what the client is surfing on, then I have a kind of base. Then we may move on.

I may counsel on the pros and cons of your current board and its specific characteristics such as capacity size.

Nowadays, almost all the paddleboards – with some rare exceptions – have their capacity size indicated on them. And that simplifies the task for me to make certain my customers are purchasing a surfboard of the most appropriate and suitable size.

And it is simpler for the clients as well, because they can rely on that information.

Stand on a Paddleboard after purchasing

Bill: Being aware of your paddleboard capacity size may save you trouble . . .

Tod: Yes, it is vital information. In addition, we consider your build, your performance skills, your surfing style, and then we offer a set of alternatives that we believe will suit in the best possible way.

Needless to say, there is a large variety of paddleboards to pick from, so I usually suggest my top board selection, but of course, we have all possible options from the most high-priced to the low-cost paddleboards.

In any case, we will find the best variant that will serve your personal requirements.

Bill: This  is always the way! And we appreciate it to the bits.

Tod: Thank you.

Bill: So, this was Tod from ‘Aloha Surfboards’.

Tod: If you need to find a good paddleboard, come visit ‘Aloha Surfboards’ and we’ll be glad to equip you to the best advantage.

Bill: Thanks again for coming here today. It was fun.
